ShapeMS: Calling all employers and people with Multiple Sclerosis

ShapeMS: Calling all employers and people with Multiple Sclerosis

The ShapeMS Pilot Testing Call: Curriculum & Platform

Within the framework of the ShapeMS project, a project that seeks to address the matter of employability of people with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), a Learning Management System (LMS) has been designed, dedicated to those directly affected and their employers. ShapeMS aims to provide the proper resources, information and tools to help individuals stay in the workforce for as long as possible as well as educate employers so they can provide necessary accommodations to people affected by MS.

The Learning Management System is based on three main ICT components:

(1) lessons for the asynchronous learning of people with MS,

(2) modules on finding and becoming a great mentor and

(3) modules for employees and employers for inclusive workplaces, and everything in-between.

The ShapeMS Concortium has developed training materials ranging from the Legal Framework behind inclusive workplaces, to the use of assistive technology, covering a wide range of themes and topics relevant to the needs of employees with MS, prospective employees with MS and employers. Our goal is to empower and train people with MS and their employers, provide tools to both sides in order to maximise their quality and duration of their presence in the workforce and spread awareness.

In order for our platform to be really useful and adapted to the needs of the target group, before launching the final version we need the collaboration of the 4 target groups of the project in the participating countries: young people with MS, people with MS willing to be mentors, employers and caregivers.
