AGORA Cyprus Workshop

Co-Creating Regenerative Tourism Experiences

Join us for a 2-day AGORA workshop where community members, tourism professionals, and local producers will co-design two regenerative tourism experiences in Cyprus, with a focus on gastronomy. Together, we’ll explore how regenerative tourism can benefit both local communities and visitors by creating authentic tourism experiences.

When?

01/09 – Online (3 HOURS 10:00 – 13:00)

09/09 – Physical (6 HOURS 10:00 – 17:00)

  • Tourism agents and destination management professionals

From Concepts to Creations: Workshop Learning Path

Part 1: LEARN – Foundations of Regenerative Tourism & Community-Based Tools

Modules Covered:

  • Module 1: Key Concepts and Trends in Sustainable Tourism
  • Module 2: Regenerative Experiences in Food, Wine, and Agritourism
  • Module 3: Community-Led Regenerative Tourism Development
  • Module 4: Enhancing Regenerative Tourism through Technology

Participants will:

  • Understand the core principles of regenerative tourism and how it differs from traditional approaches
  • Explore the role of food, wine, and agritourism in strengthening community and cultural identity
  • Learn how tourism can bring positive change in rural and local settings
  • Develop strategies to align tourism experiences with community needs
  • Identify the characteristics of meaningful local tourism experiences
  • Map local needs, challenges, and goals
  • Get introduced to tools and techniques for co-design, storytelling, and the integration of digital/virtual elements

 

Part 2: CREATE – Designing New Experiences

Modules Covered:

  • Module 6: Practical Tools for Experience Co-Creation
  • Module 7: Communication and Promotion

Participants will:

  • Select a theme and target audience for a new tourism experience
  • Co-create an original regenerative tourism experience focused on gastronomy
  • Enhance an existing tourism experience
  • Apply tools for storytelling, narrative development, and experience mapping
  • Learn how to promote and communicate the experience using marketing
