Within the framework of the ShapeMS project, a Learning, Teaching and Training Activity (LTTA) took place between the 6th and 8th March in Vicenza, Italy. The partnership consisted of organisations from Cyprus, Italy, Austria, Spain and Turkey, who brought along with experts and MS patients to provide their valuable insights to our seminars.
ShapeMS, in shaping the future of people with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), aims to provide the proper resources, information and tools to help individuals stay in the workforce for as long as possible as well as educate employers so they can provide necessary accommodations to people affected by MS. The goal of the LTTA was to educate and train ourselves on the modules we have designed to contribute to the educational curriculum for employees and entrepreneurs.
During the 3-day training, participants had the opportunity to:
- learn about the information and support modules addressed to employers that have been developed in the last few months by the partnership,
- and most importantly, share with us their own knowledge and experiences to help us fine-tune our outputs to truly tailor them to the needs of the target group.
It is essential that employers in different countries are aware of the tangible and intangible needs of people with MS in order to create an inclusive work environment for them!
During those days, the project managers held a transnational meeting to discuss and evaluate the work that has been done so far, as well as lay the groundwork for the next steps in this exciting project to improve the lives of people with multiple sclerosis.
