The hospitality sector is one of Europe’s most dynamic and fast-growing industries; and now, thanks to the MICROIDEA Erasmus+ project, aspiring professionals have a unique opportunity to join it with top-level training and internationally recognised micro-credentials.
We are excited to announce that applications are now open for the upcoming MICROIDEA training cycle, running January to June 2026. This initiative brings to life the project’s wider mission: to equip learners with flexible, high-quality, ISO-aligned micro-credentials that strengthen employability across Europe.
Why MICROIDEA?
MICROIDEA is redefining vocational education by developing a modern, transparent and internationally relevant micro-credential system. The project focuses on the tourism and hospitality sector, a cornerstone of the European economy, and has selected the waiter profession as its flagship pilot. Through this choice, MICROIDEA is addressing real labour-market needs while providing learners with skills that are immediately valuable and widely recognised.
Drawing on extensive research and expert collaboration across Greece, Cyprus, and Spain, the project has created a training model that is practical, engaging and industry-driven. Educational materials combine essential occupational knowledge with targeted micro-courses on digital skills, green competencies, customer service, and soft skills. Resources also integrate interactive elements such as instructional videos and language support, ensuring accessibility for diverse learners.
What Does the Program Offer?
The open call invites you to participate in a structured blend of:
- Theoretical training, using modern methods such as the Flipped Classroom.
- Interactive online lessons guided by experienced trainers.
- On-the-job practical experience in real catering and hospitality companies.
- Continuous mentoring, ensuring a smooth transition into the workplace.
Upon completion, you will obtain ISO 17024-aligned European micro-credentials, giving you a competitive advantage and improving their mobility across the EU labour market.
