Grants are used to support new and existing businesses that seek to:
- upgrade their infrastructure and equipment technologically,
- improve the efficiency and sustainability of production,
- develop new or improved products and markets,
- promote PDO, PGI, organic, or export products.
The Scheme is co-funded by the European Union and the Republic of Cyprus, aiming to support the agri-food chain and local processing.
Beneficiaries
Natural or legal persons, existing or newly established companies, which are active or intend to become active in the processing and/or marketing of agricultural products, as defined in Annex I to the EU Treaty, are eligible to participate.
Businesses must have or secure appropriate infrastructure and operate legally in the Republic of Cyprus.
Types of Businesses
- Micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)
- Large enterprises in specific cases, provided that the investment serves the collective or strategic interest of the sector.
Grant
The aid intensity depends on the size of the enterprise and its location.
In general, the grant ranges between 40% and 60% of eligible costs, in accordance with the terms of the Implementation Manual.
Eligible Expenses
- Construction, renovation, or expansion of building facilities
- Supply and installation of machinery and equipment
- Commercial transport vehicles necessary for the transport of raw materials and products (up to €300,000),
- Investments in digital technology and innovation,
- Certification and quality control costs,
- Product promotion and marketing,
- Consultancy and research services.
Ineligible Expenses
- Purchase of land,
- Operating expenses,
- Rents, fees, interest, and taxes,
- Second-hand equipment,
- Investments related to non-agricultural products.
Total Budget
The total budget for the Plan is €25,000,000.
