Phase One Completed: from insights to practical tools for diversity, equity & inclusion (DEI) in workplaces and VET.
We are pleased to inform you regarding the completion of the first phase of the Erasmus+ project “Fit for the Future”, which tackles barriers linked to gender, cultural, and intersectional discrimination in employment and learning environments. This milestone moves the partnership from evidence-gathering to tool-building, transforming findings into practical resources for managers, educators and teams.

What we accomplished in Phase One
Over recent months, the consortium worked with local SMEs, NGOs and DEI-focused stakeholders to capture real-world experience and needs. This effort led to:
- Interviews and a podcast featuring women in leadership, highlighting pathways, obstacles and enabling policies.
- Case studies that make visible unconscious biases and their operational effects in recruitment, task allocation, progression and learning.
- Good practices in sustainable and regenerative workplace management, showcasing how systems thinking can nurture inclusion, wellbeing and performance.
What the early insights tell us
The conversations and evidence collected point to a few recurring needs: a shared language for DEI across teams; simple, credible ways to surface hidden biases; and leadership approaches that build places where people and organisations can thrive over time. Importantly, VET providers and SMEs asked for actionable tools that fit busy schedules and varying levels of DEI maturity.
What comes next
These insights now feed directly into two core outputs:
- A digital self-assessment tool to help organisations (workplaces and VET settings) map their current DEI realities, identify priority gaps and receive tailored suggestions—supported by a check-up matrix to track progress.
- An Open Educational Resource (OER) platform that will host micro-learning assets, case studies, templates and guidance on systems thinking and regenerative leadership for inclusive practice.
Pilots and user-testing will begin in the next phase, alongside international webinars on diversity & inclusion, systems thinking and regenerative leadership. Organisations interested in piloting the self-assessment or contributing examples of practice are warmly invited to get in touch.
