Webinar Invitation – 27 May 2025, 12:00 EET
The DigAccessAgrotourism project, funded under the COSME Programme of the European Union, invites professionals, stakeholders, and organisations involved in rural and agrotourism to participate in its first public webinar titled: “The Needs for Accessibility and Digital Transition in the Agrotourism Sector in Europe.” The event will take place online on Tuesday, 27 May 2025, at 12:00 EET.
The project addresses a critical and often overlooked challenge in the European tourism landscape: the digital inaccessibility of agrotourism enterprises. While rural tourism is growing steadily, many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), cooperatives, and other actors in the social economy remain digitally underdeveloped and physically inaccessible to individuals with disabilities. DigAccessAgrotourism seeks to fill this gap by supporting these organisations in enhancing their digital capacities and embracing accessibility as a core element of sustainable rural development.
The initiative is implemented by a consortium of expert partners from across Europe, including OIC Poland Foundation (coordinator), Eurosuccess Consulting (Cyprus), ARFIE (Belgium), LEGACOOP Emilia Romagna (Italy), FENACERCI (Portugal), the Greek-Italian Chamber of Commerce (Greece), and the Cyprus Agrotourism Company. Together, they bring decades of experience in tourism development, social economy, inclusion, and digital innovation.
The Needs for Accessibility and Digital Transition in the Agrotourism Sector in Europe Webinar
This upcoming webinar marks the public launch of the project’s findings and tools, following extensive research conducted in Greece, Cyprus, Portugal, Poland, and Italy. It will present the results of a multi-country needs analysis, discuss the identified good practices, and outline the next steps in engaging SMEs and their support organisations in meaningful capacity-building processes.

Aims and Objectives of DigAcessAgrotourism
The project is grounded in the belief that accessible tourism is not a niche but a necessity. According to the United Nations, over one billion people globally live with some form of disability. However, most rural tourism experiences in Europe are still not designed with inclusion in mind. The DigAccessAgrotourism project seeks to:
- Map the digital and accessibility-related needs of agrotourism SMEs and enabling organisations across Europe
- Provide targeted training, mentoring, and financial support to facilitate digital transformation
- Develop a transnational collaborative platform for knowledge sharing and peer learning
- Raise awareness about the importance of accessible and inclusive rural tourism
A Shared Vision
DigAccessAgrotourism represents a collaborative effort to ensure that Europe’s rural tourism sector does not remain on the margins of the digital transition. It calls on all stakeholders – whether tourism professionals, public agencies, or digital innovators – to contribute to a sector that is inclusive by design, accessible by default, and sustainable in its growth.
