CURABILITY – CUltuRal AccessiBILITY

The CURABILITY project aims to preserve the European cultural heritage and pass it on to future generations by reaching out to people with disabilities and improving their access to culture, as well as the experience of current and future workers in museums, galleries etc.

Main objectives:

  • Help museums to understand better the needs of people with disabilities (PWD) and implement changes and improvements in the environment and attitude
  • Share best practices in improving skills and competencies of cultural institutions and students to work with PWD for improved access to cultural heritage (CH)
  • Establish collaborative partnerships between all the stakeholders
  • Put forward innovative accessibility solutions
  • Develop pilot projects that can serve as an inspiration for other stakeholders
  • Lead by example, raise awareness, stimulate ideas and invite others to act

Project Results:

  • Museums as Role Models (accessible narratives of services in partner’s cities museums)
  • Webinars for Accessible Curators (a combination of theory, practical assignments and hands-on tools to ideate, design and prototype a cultural accessible art place)
  • Online platform CURABILITY COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE (platform containing teaching and learning material regarding cultural accessibility)
  • CULTURAL VADEMECUM

The project consortium is composed of 7 partners from 6 EU countries: Spain, Cyprus (Eurosuccess Consulting), Lithuania, Italy, Poland, Bulgaria.
