The Teachers’ HAVEN consortium is preparing for its 2nd Transnational Project Meeting, taking place on 27–28 November 2025 in the city of Salamanca, Spain.
This two-day meeting marks a significant transition point in the project, as partners will come together to reflect on progress made and begin the next major phase: the development of training content and tools that will directly support teachers across Europe.
Closing the Fieldwork Chapter
After several months of in-depth research conducted in all partner countries, the project is now finalising its Needs Analysis Report. This research included online questionnaires, focus groups with both in-training and in-service teachers, interviews with school headmasters, and roundtable discussions with key stakeholders, such as educational authorities, policy experts, and school leaders.
The findings from this comprehensive fieldwork offer valuable insights into the current state of teachers’ working conditions, professional challenges, and emotional well-being. This data forms the foundation of the project’s next phase and confirms the need for targeted interventions in three interconnected areas: occupational well-being, professional self-efficacy, and social support systems.
Moving Into Development: Training and Empowerment
With the fieldwork phase concluding, the Salamanca meeting will officially launch the next work packages with the focus shifting on the design of a personal development programme for teachers and the creation of training modules that respond to the needs identified during the fieldwork study.
The training programme will address the three pillars of the Teachers’ HAVEN project:
• Occupational well-being
• Teachers’ self-efficacy
• Social connectedness and peer support
These resources will be hosted and delivered through the Teachers’ HAVEN Academy, an online platform designed to offer structured, practical support to teachers in all partner countries.
Supporting the People at the Heart of Education
The Teachers’ HAVEN project recognises that improving teacher well-being is not only beneficial to individual educators, but is critical to the future of inclusive, resilient, and effective education systems.
With the research phase nearly complete, the Salamanca meeting represents a key step toward building tools and structures that empower educators in meaningful, sustainable ways.
Stay tuned for updates following the meeting, as we move forward in co-creating the Teachers’ HAVEN Academy and preparing the first wave of training content.
