{"id":9444,"date":"2024-06-13T16:06:16","date_gmt":"2024-06-13T13:06:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.eurosc.eu\/?p=9444"},"modified":"2024-06-13T16:10:04","modified_gmt":"2024-06-13T13:10:04","slug":"creating-inclusive-workplaces-in-europe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eurosc.eu\/en\/news\/creating-inclusive-workplaces-in-europe\/","title":{"rendered":"Creating Inclusive Workplaces in Europe"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><em>\u00a0The 2<sup>nd<\/sup> ShapeMS LTTA<\/em><\/h4>\n<p>Within the framework of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurosc.eu\/en\/adult-education-en\/shaping-the-future-of-people-with-multiple-sclerosis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ShapeMS<\/a> project, a successful learning and training event took place in Nicosia, Cyprus, from May 27th to 29th, 2024. The ShapeMS and D\u2019Driven projects collaborated to invite stakeholders from various sectors, including employers, individuals with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), and Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) individuals from across Europe.<\/p>\n<p>The ShapeMS project aims to provide the proper resources, information and tools to help individuals with MS stay in the workforce for as long as possible as well as educate employers to be able to provide necessary accommodations to people affected by MS. The goal of the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> LTTA was to train the participants in the modules developed within the project and gather their feedback to ensure the delivery of excellence.<\/p>\n<p><strong>On behalf of the ShapeMS consortium, Eurosuccess Consulting participated in the 3-day conference and presented: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/learning.shape-ms.eu\/moodle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The ShapeMS platform<\/a>, which includes a variety of information, materials and training videos related to work opportunities and how to ensure an inclusive work environment for people with MS.<\/li>\n<li><u>The importance of Assistive Technology<\/u> to help patients with MS to perform everyday tasks<\/li>\n<li>The opportunity to join the Mentorship Programme developed by the ShapeMS consortium to strengthen the community of MS patients.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The participants had the opportunity to: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Attend workshops, presentations and training sessions centred on building diverse workplaces, delivered by experienced trainers and neuropsychologists<\/li>\n<li>Learn about the available tools and resources covering CV building<\/li>\n<li>Become Ambassadors of Inclusive Practices within their organistions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Participants\u2019 positive and enthusiastic feedback was motivational for the organisers and consortia of ShapeMS and D\u2019Driven projects.\u00a0Some of our participants shared:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI found the event very enlightening and I have lots of ideas to take back to my workplace. Thank you :)\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cExcellent coordination, content and overall energy!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThank you so much for your efforts and spreading knowledge and awareness. It\u2019s a strong project and I hope it encourages people to see things differently.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIt was an amazing and eye-opening experience. I learned a lot about the struggles of disabled people and will make sure to use the knowledge I gained to contribute to their inclusion.
