EcoHoney

EcoHoney

EcoHoney: Achieve environmental sustainability through bee protection awareness, behavioural changes & farming conversion towards production of organic honey.

The main objective of EcoHoney is two-fold: (1) to enhance the key competences of farmers, producers & new-comers to convert to organic production of honey & honey products and their skills in marketing of the organic products and (2) to increasing the awareness of local communities & business on the vital importance & urgent necessity to protect & preserve the bees, pollinators & their habitats (following the call for urgent actions of the re-launched EU Pollinators Initiative).

Main goals:

  • Develop an integrated, transversal, holistic & comprehensive training course in organic production & marketing of organic honey & honey products tailored to the specific needs of the target groups.
  • Organise a large-scale awareness raising campaign on the urgent need to protect & preserve bees, pollinators & their habitats on local, national & EU level.
  • Raise awareness on the importance of honey, bees & the entire eco-systems as significant cultural & ecological element of their local heritage.
