The objective of the scheme is to upgrade hotels and tourist accommodations in rural, mountainous, and remote areas, aiming at modernizing and improving the competitiveness of the tourism product.
The scheme targets entrepreneurs who manage hotels or tourist accommodations located in mountainous, frontier, and remote areas, as well as rural areas and the villages of Kosi, Mari, and Poli Chrysochous, which are referred to as other geographic areas facing tourism disadvantages.
The specific objectives are:
- Enrichment, modernization, and upgrading of the quality of the provided products and services.
- Creation of new products and services that involve alternative forms of tourism and cater to differentiated seasonal needs and characteristics.
- Modernization of services through digital upgrades
The grant percentage will be 75% for mountainous, frontier, and remote areas, 65% for rural areas, and 50% for other geographic areas, of the total eligible budget, with a maximum funding limit of €200,000 under the De Minimis category. Additional support is possible beyond the €200,000 De Minimis threshold, without an upper limit, with a subsidy intensity of 20% for small businesses and 10% for medium-sized enterprises.
The minimum investment amount is set at €10,000 per enterprise for Traditional Buildings and Tourist Camps, and €30,000 for the other categories of Hotels and Tourist Accommodations.
