The Scheme is aiming to provide incentives for hiring people who:

a) Are aged up to 29, and are registered as unemployed for the previous 3 consecutive months  at the offices of the Public Employment Service.

b) Are aged over 29, and are registered as unemployed at the offices of the Public Employment Office, for over 7 consecutive months at the date of application.

It should be noted that unemployed people living in Larnaca, Paphos and Famagusta should be registered as unemployed for over 5 consecutive months, were occupied in the Hotel and Catering Industry and will be employed again in the same field.

Who is concerned: Enterprises of all sizes and sectors. Self-employed are not covered.

Amount of funding: 50% of the wage costs of the employee, with a maximum of  €7.000 for the first 8 months of occupation and under the term that the employee will remain active for at least 12 months.

The subsidy for employers  in the construction industry will rise up to 65% of wage costs of the employee, with a maximum of €8.000 for 8 months of occupationwith the employer’s obligation for additional employment of that person for 4 months.
